Engine

The Cat 330 is powered by the Cat C7.1 engine, a 7.01 L displacement powerplant designed for reliability and fuel efficiency. The engine is capable of running on biodiesel blends up to B20 and meets China Stage IV non-road emission standards. For environmental adaptability, it offers 52°C (125°F) high-ambient cooling capacity with de-rate and cold-start capability down to -32°C (-25°F). Key engine features include three selectable power modes, one-touch low idle with automatic engine speed control, auto engine idle shutdown, a double-element air filter with integrated precleaner, and reversing electric cooling fans for easy maintenance.

Hydraulic System

The Cat 330 features an advanced electro-hydraulic system that balances power and efficiency. The main system delivers a maximum implement flow of 560 L/min through dual pumps. Maximum equipment pressure is 35,000 kPa in normal mode, rising to 38,000 kPa in Heavy Lift Mode or Auto Dig Boost. Travel pressure is 35,000 kPa and swing pressure is 29,800 kPa. The system uses Smart mode to automatically match engine and hydraulic power to digging conditions. Standard hydraulic features include boom and stick regeneration circuits, auto hydraulic warm-up, auto two-speed travel, boom and stick drift reduction valves, and a hammer return filter circuit. Auxiliary hydraulic options provide versatility for a wide range of Cat attachments.

Durable Structure

The Cat 330 is built for long-term reliability in demanding conditions. Up to 95% of structural welds are completed by robots, achieving up to three times the penetration of manual welds for superior joint strength. The durable Cat undercarriage absorbs stresses and provides excellent stability, with a modified X-frame structure. Grease-lubricated track links seal grease between the pin and bushing to keep debris out, extending undercarriage life and reducing travel noise. The sloped track frame design prevents the buildup of mud and debris, helping reduce damage and simplify cleaning.
